The COG Data Catalog is available to view the many different GIS datasets available in the organization. It is a searchable inventory of GIS data organized by location: geodatabases (GDBs), ArcGIS Online (AGOL), and ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal). The catalog is a resource for GIS users to find the most relevant data for any business need. Just like our data, this catalog is intended to be dynamic and reflect changes to our GIS assets.
What data is included in the GIS Data Catalog?
- Within the GDB Catalog tab, the table lists the enterprise geodatabase items Greeley most commonly accessed by our users, stored on SQLServer-svm-gissql. The table includes an item name, type, summary, description, and an abbreviated file path.
- Within the AGOL Catalog tab, the table lists the items owned by Greeley ArcGIS Online users that are shared at the group level, organization level, with the public, and any combination thereof.
- Within the Portal Catalog tab, the table lists the items owned by Greeley ArcGIS Enterprise Portal users that are shared at the group level, organization level, with the public, and any combination thereof.
What data is not included in the GIS Data Catalog?
- Within GDB Catalog tab, Shapefiles and feature classes stored in file geodatabases (.fgdb extension) or elsewhere on the G Drive are not included. That data tend to be less authoritative and are often created as outputs or steps in geoprocessing. If you know of a feature class that is not currently in our enterprise geodatabases, but should be, please submit a service desk ticket to transfer the data.
- Within the AGOL & Portal Catalog tabs, online items which are not shared with other users are not included. These items have a sharing level is set to owner-only. Service definitions are also omitted in the table.
