Installing Adobe Acrobat Pro from Adobe Creative Cloud

City owned computers should automatically have Adobe Creative Cloud installed by default. Consider Adobe Creative Cloud as Adobe's software which it uses to manage all the different programs they offer, allowing them to be installed by individuals and stay up-to-date without needing administrator credentials. Once you've been assigned a license and have set up your account (step 0 below), you can install the application yourself and it will stay updated without any further input.

Step 0 - Set up your Adobe Account

• Follow the instructions in the email from Adobe titled "Get started with Acrobat Pro"

  • The email should contain a big blue "Get started" button that takes you to Adobe's account set up page.
  • This will take you to Adobe's account setup page, from here you'll be prompted to create a password. Note that this password is not linked to your CoG Windows password. While you can make it the same, if you update your Windows password in the future it will NOT automatically update your Adobe password. Once you have a password set up, you'll be directed to Adobe's page with some installation instructions. You can use these, however they will require admin credentials. For this reason we suggest installing directly from the Adobe Creative Cloud application.

Step 1 - Open and log in to Adobe Creative Cloud

• Find and open the Adobe Creative Cloud application on your computer

  • ​​​​​Use the search bar on the bottom of your desktop screen and search for "Adobe Creative Cloud". You will likely see "Adobe Acrobat" as well, but this is the unlicensed version which we want to replace with Acrobat Pro now that you have been assigned a license.

    
• Log in to Adobe Creative Cloud with the password you just created
  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Note that Adobe Creative Cloud may take a few minutes to initialize the first time you open it. Once it's open you should see a page with shortcuts, suggestions, and more- feel free to explore this later. For now, open your Apps page to see which Adobe applications you have available to you. There are two different buttons that will take you here.
• Install Adobe Acrobat
  • ​​​​​​​On the apps page you'll see a list of applications that you have access to which should install Acrobat. If you don't see Acrobat here, please reach out to the IT team at service.desk@greeleygov.com or by responding to the ticket in which you requested access in the first place. Use the Install button on the Acrobat app option to install the program.​​​​​​​
  • Note that the Acrobat installation may take some time, and Adobe Creative Cloud may be updating itself first before it goes to install the app. The installation usually doesn't require a restart, but sometimes may depending on several factors. Once Acrobat is installed you can open it from within Adobe Creative Cloud or by searching your desktop for Acrobat.
