Introductory Period Check-Ins: Manager Guide

This how-to guide help walk Managers through the process of completing Introductory Period Check-Ins in Oracle. Refer to the Employee guide here: Employee Guide

Formats Available:

  1. In addition the the employee, Managers will automatically receive a notification when your new employee's Introductory Period Journey begins.

To access the Journey - Click My Team.

  2. Click on the Journeys tile.

  3. Team Journeys will show you all of the Journeys your team has.

  4. Click on the employee and their corresponding Introductory Period Check-Ins Journey

  5. Here you can see current task status as well as when future check-in tasks will launch.

You can also send reminders through the Journey.

  6. To send a reminder select the Actions button, and click Send a Reminder.

  7. Managers can also create the Check-In without waiting on the employee. 

To create a check-in, click on the Performance Overview tile.

  8. Locate the employee you want to create a check-in for and Click Actions. Then select Add Check-In Document.

  9. Click Template to select which check-in interval you need to complete.

  10. Questionnaires will be automatically created for you and your employee.

  11. Click Schedule to create the check-in.

Your employee will be notified that the check-in has been created.

  12. Oracle will automatically redirect you to your dashboard.

Select Performance Overview to open the check-in you just created.

  13. Click on the employee you are completing a check-in with.

Both you and your employee can complete your parts of the check-in simultaneously.

  14. Click on the check-in you need to complete.

You will also see any previous check-ins here in case you need to refer back to previous conversations.

  15. Expand the Questionnaire for yourself to submit your responses.

This page is where you can see your employee's responses too. Expand their questionnaire section to see their responses.

  16. Click View Questionnaire

  17. Enter your responses for each question.

  18. You can save and resume completing your check-in by clicking Save at any time. Be sure to save your work!

Click Save.

  19. If you are complete with your questionnaire and ready to share with your employee, click the Mark as done toggle.

If you need more time to complete your responses, skip this step until you are ready.

  20. You'll see a green check mark next to completed tasks.

Click Update to close out of the Check-In.

Your employee will automatically receive a notification that you have completed your portion of the check-in. They can then log in and view your responses.

  21. You can always go back to open or completed check-ins. These are great resources when it comes time for Mid-Year Conversations and Annual Evaluations.
